The barber who was accused of killing his Second Year Senior High School (SHS) girlfriend has been found dead in Nsutam, a town located in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region.
The individual, identified as Akoumani Kwabena, known as Emeka, was found deceased in an advanced decomposed state with a rope tied to a tree and his Ghana card bearing his name nearby.
The discovery was made by a resident of the area who stumbled upon the remains while going to their farm.
The concerned resident promptly alerted the police, not realizing that the body they had found was actually that of the suspect who had been on the run.
The police arrived at the scene and confirmed the identity of the deceased as Emeka. The local authorities shared that the body was in an advanced state of decomposition.
The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Emeka's death.
The tragic incident follows closely after a recent report which detailed the killing of an 18-year-old student named Abigail Asare.
Abigail, a second-year student at the New Nsutam Senior High Technical School, was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend, Emeka.
The incident occurred on the morning of June 2, 2023, just as the mid-term holidays were starting.
According to eyewitnesses, Abigail had visited Emeka's shop after leaving school for the holidays.
However, Emeka left the shop shortly after, and it was only moments later that a customer discovered Abigail's lifeless body on the floor, covered in blood from knife wounds.
Local law enforcement agencies swiftly responded to the scene, transporting Abigail's body to the Kyebi Government Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
