Martha Wiafe, a 25-year-old woman, is thought to have died in her boyfriend's room in Atwima Agogo, in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti Region, under mysterious circumstances.
The lover in question, who is now in the Abuakwa police station to assist with investigations, was arrested as a result of the dead person's family making the request.
The father, Elder Isaac Wiafe, who is in shock over his daughter's death, wonders what may have caused her death.
There is currently no evidence that the family was aware of the nature of the girl's connection with her boyfriend.
Mr Wiafe believes there was foul play involved and is waiting for the authorities to figure out what killed his daughter.
"I heard my daughter has passed on somewhere. When I was called I was told she died somewhere, so I asked them to verify if it was true or not, and they came with the sad news"
"I told my kids to run and call the police so they could take appropriate action. She allegedly passed away at a place called Agogo Kofase, and the man she allegedly died in his room with is helping the Abuakwa police with their investigation." According to him, the inquiry will establish how she passed away.
The mother of Martha, who is in excruciating pain, is pleading with President Akufo-Addo to step in and see that the offender is prosecuted.
"I want to kill the young man as well; I can't take it, and my daughter is supposed to bury me; why should she pass away now?" She said, "This is intolerable."
According to a relative of the deceased, the young woman passed on Sunday but was not disclosed to family members until Tuesday.
