Popular Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, better known as Lil Win, has stated that when he rose to fame, he was paid GHc 50 for his first role in a movie.
The movie "Azonto Ghost" is still one of the best-selling and most well-liked Kumawoood movies today. After providing the background music for the movie, Ghanaian highlife artist Bisa Kdei shot to fame in the music industry.
However, Lil Win, one of the movie's main protagonists, claims he only received GHC50 for his role.
He claimed that despite this, he wasn't discouraged since he liked what he did and knew that eventually, things will change.
"I received GHC50 for my role in Azonto Ghost. And despite everything, I didn't give up." This was said by Lil Win during an interview with Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.
The actor said that he did all he did out of love, which is what led to his career's success and helped him become a celebrity.
