Armed robbers attacked a bank in Anyinase, in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region, and fled with an unspecified sum of money.
According to Maxwell Asiedu, an assemblyman for Anyinase Central, who spoke with Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, the host of Connect FM's Omanbapa Morning show, the bank was attacked by roughly six armed robbers on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at about 4 PM.
Four of the armed thieves, in his account, attacked the bank. "The bank is located on the second level of a two-story building, with stores on the ground floor. According to the information I have, two of the four armed bandits waited outside the bank to keep an eye out for potential intruders while the other four entered and locked the personnel inside.
He claims that in order to avoid being recognized by onlookers, all of the armed robbers entered the bank disguised as customers.
“It was after the robbery people around realized something like had happened. They came to the bank well-dressed like customers and had a smooth operation. I cannot tell the amount they took from the bank but they were successful with the operation.
He continues by saying that the location acts as a point of revenue collection for one of the nation's most renowned banks.
The armed men are currently being sought by the police.
