Akwasi Alex Ofosu, a 5-year-old child, is in excruciating pain after his uncle's wife cut his three fingers with a knife because he reportedly attempted to steal fish from a soup.
The breastfeeding mother is said to have caused the victim's injuries in Wisiwisi, Kwahu West Municipality, Eastern Region.
"Yesterday around 6:30, I heard Kwasi weeping loudly, therefore I asked Sister Ama to enquire why he was crying and what had transpired, she said that she had sliced off his fingers for stealing fish from her soup.
"I then asked if she had used a knife or a blade, and she said, 'knife.' So I said, Sister Ama, you're evil. I then called the boy and, together with another tenant, provided him first aid," a neighbour revealed.
"I observed yesterday that the woman cut the boy's fingers with a knife. One of my sisters was braiding her hair nearby when she heard the child weeping and invited him to come with her.
"Even though the aunt attempted to prevent him from coming, the sister insisted, and when the boy came, we noticed that three of his fingers had been cut," said another witness.
The kid had recently lost his mother and was residing with his uncle and his wife when he was exposed to severe treatment.
According to Angel FM, the child was brought to the hospital for treatment.
