Memphis Depay has joined Atletico Madrid on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Barcelona.

Memphis was observed training with Atletico Madrid on Thursday night, with permission from Barcelona, as the trade was finalised.

The club confirmed the deal on Friday afternoon, with his introduction slated for later that evening.

According to reports, the transaction is worth €3 million to Barcelona, with an additional €1 million in variables. A deal has also been made to send Yannick Carrasco in the opposite direction for the summer, according to reports.

The Dutch attacker featured 42 times for Barcelona during his 18-month stint at Camp Nou, scoring 14 times and assisting twice.

All but one of his goal contributions came in his debut season, and he has since become a non-factor for Xavi Hernandez. So yet, he has only played 206 minutes of club football.
