The contract of Ghanaian captain Andre Ayew has been terminated by Qatari giant Al Sadd Football Club.
The decision was made by mutual agreement and was publicly announced by the club via social media.
The midfielder, 33, has five months left on his two-year deal. There was no rationale offered for the contract's cancellation.
Andre Ayew signed as a free agent with Al Sadd in July 2021 and participated in 30 league games, scoring 18 goals. In his debut season with Al Sadd, he won the Qatar Stars League.
Ayew is rumoured to be interested in joining rival club Al Rayyan. However, no official confirmation has been issued as of yet.
