Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, a midfielder for Hearts of Oak, has extended his contract with the club ahead of the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Algeria.
Management expressed delight with the move in a club statement made on Tuesday, January 3.
"The Management of Accra Hearts of Oak PLC is pleased to announce to our teeming followers that Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has extended his contract with the club."
Barnieh, who was a member of the Black Stars squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, has been linked with a move to FC Zurich in the Swiss Super League.
The message provided no more information on the contract renewal.
“The club will provide further updates on Daniel Afriyie Barnieh in due course,” it ended.
Barnieh led Ghana's Black Satellites to victory in the African U-20 Cup of Nations in 2021.
In Ghana's 2022 CHAN campaign, he will serve as Vice Captain to teammate Gladson Awako.
The Black Galaxies will begin their pursuit for the crown against Madagascar on Sunday, January 15.
