Real Madrid To Pay £1 Billion For Kylian Mbappe Next Summer

Before the start of this season, the verbal agreement between Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid appeared to be finished, and it appeared that way when it fell through.

However, recent reports reveal a different idea. Sportbible reports that there is a chance Real Madrid would pursue the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker once more next summer, and they may possibly spend as much as £1 billion to make the transfer happen.

Although no one associated with either team has spoken or made an announcement regarding it, if this transaction is approved, it will be the largest transfer in football history.

According to the report, Real Madrid will contribute over £132 million toward the potential £877 million total deal. According to reports, Kylian Mbappe will get over £552 million in salary over the course of four years. Other add-ons and signing-on costs will also be part of the agreement.

When Mbappe left AS Monaco in 2018 to join PSG for a staggering €180 million transfer price, he quickly gained attention. Since joining PSG, he has not only assisted his team in maintaining first place in the league but also helped his country win his first World Cup in Russia.

Mbappe was among the top players in Qatar four years later, assisting his country in their second straight trip to the grand finals against Argentina.

Despite scoring a hat-trick in the World Cup final, he was unable to assist his country in defending their title as Argentina won the game on penalties and took home the trophy for the third time. He also received the Golden Boot for his outstanding performance throughout this tournament, which featured eight goals and two assists.

Mbappe signed a new deal with PSG this year despite several rumours that he was dissatisfied with the team and looking elsewhere. He is expected to earn £547 million over the next three years, making him the highest-paid athlete in history.

He has played 20 games in all competitions this season, scoring 19 goals and dishing out five assists.

We'll find out whether Real Madrid is still interested in paying a record price to capture the most sought-after striker in football when next summer rolls around.
