Rapper Tory Lanez from Canada was found guilty by a Los Angeles jury of shooting Megan Thee Stallion from America in 2020.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney, Tory Lanez was found guilty on three counts of shooting Megan Thee Stallion by the jury.

When Tory Lanez got out of the car after having a disagreement, Megan Thee Stallion claimed that he had shot her leg. In her evidence at the trial, Megan said that she, Lanez, and her former friend and assistant, Kelsey Harris, had a heated exchange in the car.

Megan claims that the topic of her fight with Lanez was the latter's alleged involvement in a sexual encounter with Harris. Megan said she had to get out of the car as the confrontation heated up and Lanez shot her.

"I started walking away and I hear Tory yell, ‘Dance, b***h," she tearfully testified, according to Billboard. "I froze. I just felt shocked. I felt hurt. I looked down at my feet and I see all of this blood."

Megan "showed incredible courage and vulnerability" during her testimony "despite repeated and grotesque attacks," LA County DA George Gascón said in a statement to CNN following the verdict.

"You faced unjust and despicable scrutiny that no woman should ever face and you have been an inspiration to others across LA County and the nation," he said, in reference to Megan.

"Women, especially Black women, are afraid to report crimes like assault and sexual violence because they are too often not believed. This trial, for the second time this month, highlighted the numerous ways that our society must do better for women," Gascón added.

The panel, which was made up of five men and seven women, started deliberations on Thursday. The decision was made on Friday afternoon.
