Suspected Highway Robber Shot By Police; 3 Others On The Run

Armed police shot and killed a suspected highway robber on the Accra-Yeji Highway.

The dead suspect, who has not yet been named, is thought to have been a member of a group of four armed robbers who were robbing at Ejura on November 13, 2022, according to a Police situational report.

However, Corporal Oduro Fred, who was onboard as an escort, opened fire at the armed robbers who tried to loot passengers in their bus as soon as the OA bus with registration number GT5326- 17 arrived on the site of the heist at the Ejura and Dromankuma bend.

After being notified, Ejura police arrived at the spot. When they arrived, they discovered a male Fulani, about the age of 21, lying dead with gunshot wounds to his left knee, thigh, and stomach.

A dagger, a stick, a bag containing an SQ mobile phone, GH260 in cash, and Arabic writing on white papers were also recovered.

The deceased person's body has now been placed in the morgue of the Mampong Government Hospital.
