Bulldog Sues Shatta Wale For Defamation

Dancehall musician Shatta Wale has been sued by artiste manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, sometimes known as Bulldog, over recent remarks he made on the death of Fennec Okyere.

The writ, which was submitted on Monday, November 7, asks the court to, among other things, force Shatta Wale to publish a retraction of his "defamatory" comments and to apologize without reservation for seven straight days.

For the "malicious publishing of lie against the Plaintiff," Bulldog also demands general, special, and punitive damages be imposed against his former artiste.

This comes after Shatta Wale's recent Facebook post regarding how his former manager told him in 2014 of a plot to kill Mr Okyere.

Since then, the Ghana Police Service's Cold Case Unit has invited Shatta Wale, real name Charles Nii Armah Jr., for questioning.

Bulldog alleges in his legal filing that Shatta Wale's latest publication suggests that he (Bulldog) is "a criminal gangster and a danger to society and ought to be in jail (rather than walk freely in the streets)".
