"Your Threats To Vote Against NPP Do Not Frighten Me" - Prez Akufo Addo Addresses Kwabre Residents

President Akufo Addo

Residents of Kwabre in the Ashanti Region have threatened to vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 elections, but President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said he is unconcerned.

During an interview with Kumasi-based OTEC FM, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was informed that certain inhabitants of Kwabre in the Ashanti Region had vowed to avoid the 2024 election.

He was informed that they justified their threats by pointing out that their roads are poor and the government is not taking any action to improve them.

However, in response to the query and the threats, the President said he was unmoved by them.

He said that while he accepts that the government has a duty to the people, they cannot abuse that duty to intimidate the government.

"No problem, I’m saying people make those kinds of threats but they don’t frighten me. Somebody votes for you, somebody supports you it’s because they want you to do things for them so I understand that. There is no need for people to go and say if I don’t do it they won’t vote. That is their own problem," he said.

"No one forces you to vote for anyone. That is your decision. I understand the responsibility and I will deal with it," he said.
