Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon, has set a record by becoming the seventh consecutive champion of the National Science and Math Quiz (NSMQ) after pulling off a final-round surprise to defeat Prempeh College and claim the 2022 title.
They pulled off the shocker in the decisive round 5, passing Prempeh College, which had been in the lead before.
PRESEC finished the final round with 50 points, compared to Prempeh College's 41 and Adisadel College's 32.
The students, old students, and other Presec supporters sang, "We are still 'seven' a living God," as the Legon-based school won their record-breaking seventh National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) trophy.
The guys held off Prempeh College's attempts to match two of their records in a single swing.
Presec Legon battled valiantly to protect all that was on the line. They arrived, they observed, and they prevailed.
In spite of the Prempeh danger, they have continued their streak of consecutive victories and increased it to seven trophies, two more than Prempeh College, who aimed to overtake them.
Presec breaks the aspirations of its rivals by returning the trophy to Accra, the country's capital.
Adisadel College's attempt to restore the trophy to Cape Coast failed as well.
Due to all the schools missing the first two rounds of questions, the competition itself was as tense as it could be.
