Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has been urged to step down if, as he claims to be, he is a practising Christian, according to broadcast journalist Nana Aba Anamoah.

Ken Ofori-Atta has received requests for resignation from a number of sources, and Ms Aba Anamoah wants him to do so.

“If you have a conscience and humility as the Christian you make us believe you are, you’ll acknowledge that the voice of people is the voice of God. RESIGN, KEN OFORI-ATTA. WALK AWAY,” She posted on social media.

Ghana's economy is now in a crisis as a result of the fast-falling value of the Cedi and rising inflation.

To aid with a balance of payment issues, the government is looking for a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The dismissal of Ken Ofori-Atta has been demanded by several individuals and groups.

Currently, almost 80 New Patriotic Party (NPP) members of parliament have demanded his dismissal.
