FIFA began the application process for its Club Benefits Programme today as part of its commitment to acknowledge the contribution that football clubs contribute to the successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup. This program will see USD 209 million paid to clubs across the world.

Following the 2018 FIFA World Cup, this program already saw 416 clubs from 63 member organizations receive the same sum.

During the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the official preparation period, clubs will be able to submit applications digitally for the first time using the FIFA Professional Football Landscape platform, with about USD 10,000 to be collected for each day the appropriate player is with his national team.

All clubs the footballer played for in the two years before the FIFA World Cup 2022 would get remuneration.

The Club Benefits Programme is a component of a larger partnership deal between FIFA and the European Club Association, which was initially introduced before the 2010 FIFA World Cup and later expanded in 2015 to include both the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups.
