CMC Cuts Sod For The Construction Of 6,000-Seater Cathedral

Assemblies of God 6000 seater cathedral

The Assemblies of God (A-G), Ghana's Cedar Mountain Chapel (CMC), in the Greater Accra Region, held a ceremony to cut sod for the construction of a cathedral with a seating capacity of 6,000.

A children's chapel and an eight-story administrative facility, both of which are projected to be finished in a year, are also included in the project.

Former President John Dramani Mahama presided over the event, which was also attended by the General Superintendent of the A-G Ghana, Rev. Dr Stephen Wengam, the First Lady of the CMC, Monica Wengam, and other top A-G and CMC officials.

It was a component of the events that served as the capstone of the Cedar Mountain Chapel's 12-year anniversary celebration.

On Sunday, October 2, Mr Mahama said during a speech at the occasion in Accra that the project will be one of the biggest buildings in the nation to the glory of God.

He said that after having a tiny beginning, the CMC has expanded to include a larger congregation with a 1,000-seat capacity and is now holding a groundbreaking ceremony to build a 6,000-seat cathedral.

"I was the special guest of honour during the dedication of the foremost chapel at American House and it was a small congregation then now look at the size of CMC.

"And so, we pray that CMC will grow from glory to glory and I believe that the groundbreaking today will move the church to the next level of glory," he said.
