Following a specialized intelligence operation, the police in the Ashanti Region on Thursday, October 13 captured two armed robbers.
One more robber made an effort to shoot at the police but was stopped by return fire and was declared dead when he got to the hospital.
Issaka Muniru, the dead, was wanted after escaping bail at court, according to a statement made by Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs for the Ghana Police Service.
On May 26, 2021, he organized a group to rob a pastor of his two gold watches and two cell phones.
"The deceased was granted bail by the court but he jumped the bail and a bench warrant was therefore issued for his arrest," the police statement said.
"His accomplices are still attending a trial at the court."
In another robbery instance, he was arrested among four "but he managed to escape".
