Evelyn Detordzi, a 25-year-old woman in Sefwi Benumsuo in the Sehwi Bodi District of the Western North Region has lost her finger under bizarre circumstances after she wore a promise ring from her fiance.
According to her, her fiance Pius gave the ring to her out of love, exactly a week ago, but she felt a sharp pain on her finger after wearing it, so she had to remove it.
“On the third time I wore it, I decided not to remove it again. That night, I could not sleep. My finger was hurting, and the ring felt so tight. I later realized that my finger had swollen. All efforts to remove it proved futile. Luckily, the hospital and a man of God who had warned me earlier about the ring came to my rescue. Even with that, the ring peeled the skin on that finger, she narrated.
Her fiance is said to have bolted since the incident.
