Sefwi Akontombra; Two dead, Four Injured In A Gory Accident

At Sefwi Akontombra in the Western North Region, a road accident has resulted in the deaths of two people and the injuries of another four.

A low-bed truck travelling from Akontombra to Sefwi Wiawso with an excavator on board drove off the road and collided with a high tension pole.

The event also completely darkened the neighbourhood.

Yawson Amoah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the region, provided an update to Citi News on the situation and stated that steps are being taken to restore electricity to the area.

In order to expedite repairs, he noted, the district is working with engineers.

"After the incident, there were minor problems. The community's water and electricity systems failed simultaneously, so we were working with Ghana's Electricity Company to restore power.
