Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo expressed his condolences to the British Monarch, Queen Elizabeth II's family, and the government.

President Akufo-Addo sent a statement on his social media accounts outlining how he and Ghanaians feel about the passing.

In a series of tweets, President Akufo-Addo expressed his deepest condolences to King Charles III, the Royal Family, the Prime Minister, and the Government and People of Great Britain on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the late Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, on behalf of the Government and People of Ghana.

The two trips she made to Ghana during her reign are extremely well remembered by the Ghanaian people, and on both occasions, we recall the kindness, elegance, style, and pure delight she brought to the discharge of her responsibilities.

"As Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, she oversaw the Union's tremendous transition and guided it toward improved administration and a focus on our common values. She was the foundation that kept the group strong and committed to its ideals. We will miss her inspirational presence, her composure, her stability, and, most of all, her deep love and faith in the Commonwealth of Nations greater mission and in its potential to be a positive influence in the world.

"She was the longest-serving queen in British history and will be dearly mourned. She was beloved and admired by the people of Britain. Her absence leaves us in mourning. I have ordered that beginning tomorrow, Friday, September 9, all official flags in the country fly at half-mast for seven (7) days.

"May God have mercy on her soul and grant her a sweet rest in His bosom until the Last Day of the Resurrection, when we will all be reunited. Amen!! ”

A part of Ghanaians has reacted to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-reigning queen, in addition to President Akufo-Addo.

After 70 years as queen, she passed away in Balmoral at the age of 96.

After worries about her health mounted early on Thursday, her family gathered at her Scottish estate.

The Queen saw a significant societal change after ascending to the throne in 1952.

After her passing, her eldest son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, would take the throne as the new King and ruler of 14 Commonwealth states, leading the nation in grief.

Buckingham Palace released the following statement: "The Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

The King and the Queen Consort will spend this evening and tomorrow in Balmoral before departing for London.
