In Tamale, in the Northern Region, a Benz saloon with the registration number DV 947G-22 has burned beyond repair.
On Saturday morning, the event took place next to the police station at Lamashegu's second roundabout.
Reports indicated that fuel (petrol) spilt from a burst fuel hose inside the engine compartment started the fire.
Extensive fire damage was done to the front passenger and engine compartments.
The roaring fire was totally put out 15 minutes after firemen from the Northern Regional Headquarters Sub-Station under the command of Abubakar Ibrahim arrived, preventing the afflicted car's back end from being completely destroyed by the fire.
It is also reported that no casualties from the incident were recorded.
