Aisha Huang's Case To Be Heard In Court Today

Today, September 14, 2022, the Accra Circuit Court 9 is scheduled to hear accusations against the galamsey queen Aisha Huang for indulging in illegal mining and the sale and acquisition of minerals.

Three other Chinese nationals, Jong Li Hua, Huang Jei, and Huaid Hai Hun, are on trial with the infamous illegal miner; their pleas have not yet been heard.

As many saw the case as the government betraying the people, her re-arrest has subsequently ignited public debates regarding the integrity of the nation's borders and the Government's commitment to the battle against illicit mining.

However, both President Nana Akufo-Addo and his Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, have stated their dedication to a thorough, just, and fair investigation.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the information minister, told Citi News that the prosecution will be required to provide information on Aisha Huang's re-entry into the country.

"Yes, you may find everything in the Court Docket, which will be given. The Prosecutors will go through all of those specifics with the precise dates and times of the information that they have when they present the additional details of the offence in court, he added.
