Suspected Armed Robbers Arrested By The Police In Akatsi

Three suspected robbers arrested at Akatsi in the Volta Region

The Police have arrested three suspected armed robbers in the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta Region.

The suspected robbers who were arrested on Tuesday are believed to be in connection with a house robbery at Ayitikope in the Akatsi South Municipality.


The robbery incident that involves these three robbers were reported by one Mr Atsu Makafui Kumordzi in the hours of 11:45 PM on Saturday.

The Police upon investigation and manhunt for the robbers were able to arrest them in separate hideouts within Dabala and Akatsi.


According to the Chief Superintendent of the Akatsi South Municipal Police Commander, Joseph Atsu Dzineku the suspects are Ali Dzibo, Sampson Agbenyega and Zakari Omaru who are 35, 22 and 46 years respectively.

He also revealed that Ali Dzibo and Sampson Agbenyega were arrested at Dabala while Zakari Omaru was arrested at Akatsi.


Mobile phones, bank cheque booklets and an unspecified amount of money were retrieved from the robber when arrested.

The robbers after their arrest have been moved to Accra for further investigation.
