More Troops Deployed In The North As Fear Of Terrorist Attack Increases

The Government of Ghana has sent in more military men to the Northern part of Ghana over the concerns of terrorist attacks in the area.

The Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in an interview on Asase Radio has revealed that the Government of Ghana has deployed more troops and military equipment to the northern part of the country.


He indicated that the deployment of more military men in the area is due to the recent terrorist threats from neighbouring Burkina Faso terrorist groups.

The Ghana Police Service in June cautioned the authorities up North over a possible attack by bandits from Burkina Faso.


The alert also emphasized that the group is already in Ghana and it likely to attack with their Military-Grade Weapons.

The Minister also indicated that there is a reason to believe that these terrorists are recruiting in Ghana and therefore there is a lot more to do the help fight the menace.
