Several people have been displaced as a result of the earthquakes that rocked southern Turkey and northern Syria.
Thousands of soft toys were thrown onto the pitch by Besiktas fans during the match versus Antalyaspor to benefit children impacted by the earthquakes.
The match was paused for four minutes and seventeen seconds, which corresponded to the moment the first earthquake rocked Turkey and Syria on February 6, at 04:17.
The supporters then began hurling gifts from the stands, which will be distributed to children in Turkey and Syria.
More than 50,000 people have perished as a result of the earthquakes.
"Our fans organized a meaningful event called ‘This toy is my friend’ during the match in order to give morale to the children affected by the earthquake," Besiktas said.
"The fans threw scarves, berets, and plush toys to be given as a gift to the children in the earthquake region."
At a pre-match ceremony, Besiktas players warmed up in shirts with the names of the country's ravaged southern cities, and supporters thanked the search and rescue officials present at Vodafone Stadium.
"There are more important things than football," remarked defender Tayyib Sanuc. As a country, we are going through a terrible period. We shall mend the wounds together.
"I was really moved by our fans' important event. I pray we never have to deal with another calamity like this again."
Following the earthquake, Gaziantep and Hatayspor have withdrawn from the Turkish Super Lig season, with Hatayspor's Christian Atsu among those killed.
