A man who was wearing a shirt with an LGBTQI+ colour insignia on it was turned away from one of Qatar's stadiums.
US resident Grant Wahl bemoaned the Qatari officials at the stadium in a tweet for preventing him from entering.
He said that he was unable to accept the reality that he had been refused entrance to his nation because he had worn a garment intended to support LGBT community initiatives.
Grant Whal tweeted the following along with a picture:
I was recently denied entry to the stadium for the USA-Wales match by a security guard. "You have to change your shirt. It's not allowed.
In the meantime, Qatar has sent a warning to the western world about their steadfastness in upholding its principles in the face of cultural practices that conflict with their Islamic values.
They said that they would not let LGBTQI+ events or other associated immoral behaviours because of the World Cup.
Due to this, many people have responded to Grant Wahl's post. One Qatari official responded by denouncing him for failing to follow a straightforward guideline, so proving that the government did nothing wrong.
In response, a Qatari official said that it would not permit any compromise or circumvention until the West, including the US, abided by their norms.
