Mohammed Ismail Sherif commonly known as Black Sherif in the entertainment world talked about what inspired him to do the song he does today.

Ever since he originally entered the Ghanaian music scene, Blacko has enjoyed tremendous success.

His latest series of hits, which mainly consisted of rehearsed songs, caught the attention of many admirers.

In response to the massive Kumerica craze, Black Sherif said on Accra's Asaase Radio that the Asakaa Boys from Kumasi encouraged him to seek a career in drill music.

"I would give all the credit to the Asakaa Boys because they really made drill popular all over Africa and even in Kenya they are now doing drill songs," he said.

"I fell in love with drill music after listening to the Asakaa Boys so I would say that they influenced what I’m doing because it had some energy and vibe in there which got my attention," Black Sherif told the host in a virtual interview from London.

There is hope that the Ghana drill, also known as Asakaa, would become as well-known abroad as Nigerian Afrobeats and South African Amapiano.
